OK, you've attended the Purple Cow Innovation Showcase and have some knowledge, skill and a huge amount of energy and desire to transform your business, company, organization, products and services into PURPLE COW!   1. Stretch for strength. FLEXIBILITY is the new strength! Responsiveness, adopting new personas and models, being nimble and fresh are your companies greatest strengths. But, these strengths must be USED to their fullest extent to grow!
  2. Go for Distance. Adopting the PURPLE COW philosophy and culture of innovation is not a job to be delegated to the marketing department, or HR, or R&D. The spirit of innovation and PURPLE COW permeates the entire enterprise at great companies. Dare to be GREAT! Get everyone involved.
  3. Never surrender. Take a tireless, never-say-die approach to your work. Most PURPLE COW companies boast the same relentless attitude, keeping their point of view in motion through a process of continuous learning and persistent advocacy.
  4. Embrace the Mental Game. You'll need mental toughness to keep going when common sense and physical fatigue may say it is time to stop. PURPLE COWS have the uncommon sense to pursue promising ideas long after their competitors would have given up or given in.
  5. Celebrate coaches. Seek out someone you trust who will nurture the team. Even in solo performances, most high achievers have a great coach who believe in them. The right coach will bring out the best in you and your team.
